Clarendon Hills Romas Grenache 2005 MAGNUM

The Clarendon Hills Romas Grenache 2005 is an incredible wine that highlights the iconic 2005 vintage, which has been immortalised in this large format 1500ml magnum bottling. When Grenache is young the berries are bright and the perfume is intoxicatingly hypnotic however when the wine ages it transforms into something absolutely exquisite and umami oriented. The musk and rose petal elements seen on the young nose develop into truffled rose water with undertones of coco powder, black tea and bergamot. This is seriously impressive and the brightness of the berries on the palate are still prominent at 20 years of age. The amazing natural acidity still dominates the palate and the experience is silken black tea and earthy truffle raspberry, with bright cherry cola, sarsaparilla flavours. This is perfectly stored, fully mature, large format Grand Cru Grenache from an old bush vine, single vineyard located in Blewitt Springs.  It is entirely world class ladies and gentlemen.
