The virtually perfect 2003 Syrah Piggott Range is displaying far more character, depth, and potential out of bottle than it did from barrel. The most backward, tannic, and muscular of the 2003 Syrahs, it possesses an inky/blue/black/purple color, incredibly full body, monster tannins, huge concentration, and a striking minerality with all the blackberry, blueberry, and peppery characteristics one expects in a top-notch Syrah. It demands 5-6 years of cellaring, and should keep for 20-25 years. A brilliant Syrah!
